My friends asked me that how do I make themes for my Phone. I told them, it’s not easy neither it is hard, they can make themes themselves, but it could take time.

What you’re thinking? You want to make theme by yourself?
If you want, just follow the steps below.

1- First join Nokia Developer’s Site.

2- After joining, download Carbide.ui Series 40 Theme Edition 5.0.

3- Install it into your Pc, then run the Application.

4- When Application start, Use Tutorials or start Create Theme.

5- Click on to Create Theme, a new windows will pop-up, name your Theme there, and mark Use default Theme Template, and click Finish.

6- Choose size of your Theme, from the drop-down list.

7- Choose components from right side-bar, select one by one, and edit it.

Select Active Idle:

1- Click anywhere on Active Idle to edit it and to browse a Background, click on the icon, pointed as on pic.

2- To change Idle Softkey Area Font, click on Select – Idle Softkey Area, and change the colour as directed in pic.

Select Audio Player:

1- Click anywhere on Audio Player to edit it or to change the Background.

Select Big Clock(Analog):

1- Choose Digital Clock or Analog Clock then change the Background.

Select Calendar Month View:

1- Click on the Calendar, where date is showing, change the Background.

2- Change the Background of all the months.

Tip:
Drag the month on to another, Background will automatically change.

3- After all this, change the Status Area Font Color and Idle Softkey Area Font Color.

Select Folder List:

1- Click anywhere to change the Background

2- Click on the Menu/List, Right-Click > Set Color, choose the White Colour.

3- Click on Highlighted Menu/List, Right-Click > Set Color, choose the Black Colour.

Select General Note:

1- Select General Note, edit it and design your own Gradient Background as I did, using Photoshop. If you dont have Photoshop, read our previous blog aboutDownload Photoshop CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, for free.

Select Main Menu(Grid):

1- Click anywhere on Main Menu to edit it or to change the Background.

Select Pop-Up Options List:

1- Click anywhere on Pop-up Options List to edit it or to change the Background.

Changing Menu Icons:

1- Click on Main Menu at the left Sidebar > Menu Icons > Audio Messages > select Animated Grid.

2- Click on Applications > select Animated Grid.

3- Do the same with all the Grids.

Navigate to the top of the application, click on Tools > Create New Package. Following window will appear then, click on Finish.

You have done, now go to your Workspace > Your Theme Folder > Your Theme.nth.
